Effective August 30, 2006 we will no longer continue to purchase online meeting services from WebEx.  Rather than immediately commit to another costly licensing arrangement, we have been looking into free alternatives.    We are recommending VYEW for web conferencing.  VYEW is easier to use than WebEx and has many of the same capabilities.  To try the product:

Only the meeting host needs to register.  Attendees can be invited via e-mail.  Once registered you return and can host meetings at any time. Uploading class materials and presentations is very straightforward.  Meeting hosts can also store 10 meg of files online.  

VYEW is a FREE web conferencing service.  There is a 20 guest maximum. In addition vyew also offers free teleconferencing (see the bottom right icon on the meeting window). Long distance charges apply.

 

One caveat is that we have no guarantee the vendor will remain in business or continue to offer the service for free.  Should this happen we will have to look for another recommendation.
