Research Computing: Hardware

Faculty and PhD Students are entitled to accounts on the two research servers at the GBS. Requests should be made to Jenny Gao. All users are expected to have signed the Acceptable Use Policy before accessing the systems.

The two research servers are:

RES5:

• 32GB RAM

RES4:

• Server Type – RX4640

• Four 64bit Itanium II processors
• 16GB RAM

Server Account Request Form

There are currently no quotas set on RES5 and RES4 although this may change as the need arises. Contact Ron Harris to talk about file management.

Desktop systems and hardware support for standard configurations are provided though Information Services. Additional hardware may be purchased through individual Faculty Support Accounts.
