Process for Initial Submission of an Application
  1. Get in touch with IRB staff at GBS by emailing human_subjects_review@bus.emory.edu
  2. Be sure that you are CITI certified (please contact a committee member before taking the certification test - we will help you get through certification).
  3. Log into the Emory eIRB Submission website. Complete the initial submission form. Attach consent forms, instruments, recruitment materials and a brief research protocol.
  4. Goizueta staff check your application for completeness and forward it on to the Emory IRB.
  5. An IRB reviewer will decide whether your protocol meets the standard for Full, Expedited, or Exempt from Review.
  6. The Primary Investigator named on your submission form should expect correspondance from the Emory IRB within 2 weeks of submission. If your study is not approved as is, the IRB will request changes.
  7. Your study should recieve approval within one week of your response to the changes requested by your reviewer.
