Business Writing Center
Nicola Graves is an Assistant Professor in the Practice of Management Communication at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. She emphasizes writing and presentation skills in her Business Communication classes. In addition to teaching, Dr. Graves is developing a Business Presentation Program that will assist MBA and BBA students in preparing for case competitions and presentations. She also serves as a faculty advisor for Emory’s Executive Women’s Group. Before joining Goizueta as a faculty member, she worked as a consultant for the Business Writing Center and edited manuscripts and papers for faculty, MBA students, and BBA students.
Dr. Graves has served as a scholarship/fellowship advisor in the Office of Student Academic Affairs at Emory University. As scholarship/fellowship advisor, she led application-writing workshops, edited application essays, and coached students on writing and interviewing skills. She also served on scholarship interviewing and selection committees.
While completing her Ph.D., Dr. Graves consulted as a technical writer. Her clients include Great Southern Life and Dexus Technologies. She has written user’s manuals for software and has co-authored an article on writing user’s manuals.
Dr. Graves brings to Goizueta ten years of course development and teaching experience. She has taught English and Women’s Studies at Auburn University, Agnes Scott College, and Emory University.
She holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Women’s Studies from Emory University, and an M.A. and B.A. in English from Auburn University.
