Guest Speaker Guide

Case Classrooms:

East Wing: 130, 201, 204, 208*, 231, 234, 301, 304, 331, 334, 500** 
West Wing*: W100, W131, W300, W320, W330
These rooms include:

  • Touch panel control of all A/V equipment including source selection, volume, lights, shades, and curtains
  • Sony XGA projector for display of all components
  • Desktop PC with Windows XP, Office XP, network and internet connection,  DVD/CD drive, & floppy drive
  • Connections to display your laptop including PC audio mini jack & network connection via DHCP or modem connect
  • Document Camera
  • VHS VCR
  • Overhead transparency projector
  • Chalk boards
  • White board writing surface
  • Sony DVD player (except rooms 208 & 130)

*     West Wing Classrooms add a second projector, annotatable touch panel, with
       USB save, and room record via IP camera.
**   Room 208 has two projectors, one for video and one for computer sources

*** Room 500 has a Sanyo SVGA projector rather than Sony XGA

Microphones are available in rooms 130 and 208 only.  All rooms are acoustically designed to not require mics from even the softest voice.

Tips and Recommendations

If you will use our PC and need internet access, please have your business school point of contact obtain a login and password for you to use.

  • If you plan to use our destop PC to display powepoint presentations, use the “pack and go” save function.  Directions are below.
  • Bring backup presentation on PC compatible CDROM, Zip disk, or floppy disk
PowerPoint "Pack and Go" Instructions

 

If you have created a PowerPoint presentation and want to display it to another machine you may want to use PowerPoint’s Pack and Go feature.  Pack and Go is most useful when you are not sure if PowerPoint is supported on the machines of an off-site location. 

Only Pack and Go after you have completed your presentation and saved a copy to your hard drive.  Below you will find the instructions on how to Pack and Go your PowerPoint presentation:

 

1. Click on File>Pack and Go

2. You will get the Pack and Go wizard. Click Next

3. Next choose which presentation you want to Pack and Go, either the active presentation or click Other presentations>Browse to select another saved presentation.  Click Next

4. Next choose where you want the Pack and Go file to be copied.  Most likely you will choose the A: drive to insure compatibility.  Click Next

5. Next you will need to select if you want to include any linked files or special fonts.  If you do not have any linked files uncheck this box. Click Next.

6. On the next page always choose to keep the viewer.  Click Next.

7. Now you are finished with the Pack and Go wizard.  Be sure to run Pack and Go wizard again if you make any more changes to your presentation.  Click Finish.

How to Unpack your Presentation

Now that you have successfully packed your presentation you are ready to unpack or “go” the presentation.  Here is what you will need to do to display your presentation:

Find the pngsetup.exe file, this will be where you copied the Pack and Go presentation in step 4.  Double-click on the file.

The next screen will ask where you want to unpack the presentation.  Pack and Go defaults to unpack the presentation to the machine’s desktop.  Click Ok.

You will receive a screen that informs you the presentation will overwrite any files on the desktop with the same name.  Make sure there are no existing files on the desktop with the same name. Click Yes

You have successfully unpacked your presentation and ready to display.  Click Ok.
