About Cookies
When you login, you may receive a notice that the server wishes to set a cookie. If you
say "no", the system will not be able to identify you and you will not be able
to submit your paper. If you say "yes," you will be identified by our system and
access to our server will be established.
Put simply, a "cookie" is a small piece of information about your identity.
There are two kinds of cookies:
- Transient cookie: "Transient" means the cookie is not stored on your
hard drive and only exists as long as you are in our site. It contains information that
identifies you and allows us to maintain continuity from one page to another as you
communicate with us. We use this type of cookie.
- Persistent cookie: Once installed, a persistent cookie remains on the hard drive
of your personal computer. Generally, persistent cookies are accessible only to the site
that wrote them, so no other sites can access your information. We don't use this type of
cookie.
Check your browser preferences to be sure cookies have not been disabled. For example,
- For Internet Explorer 4, use option "View"/"Internet
Option"/"Advanced"/"Cookies"/"Enable".
For Internet Explorer 5, use option "Tools"/"Internet
Option"/"Security", then "Internet"/"Custom
Level"/"Cookies" or "Local Intranet"/"Custom
Level"/"Cookies".
- For Netscape Version 3.0, use option "Options"/"Network
preferences"/"Protocols"/"Cookies".
For Netscape Communicator 4.6, use option
"Edit"/"Preference"/"Advanced"/"Cookies".
You may choose "Help" on your browser if you do not know where to set this
preference. |
