the steps in the following checklist will ensure that your Windows
XP computer is protected
- Install
an antivirus software. (If you
are unsure of whether you have installed an antivirus software,
please check it either from your system tray or from Programs)
- Install
a personal firewall. (For advanced
users only)
- Choose
a secure password to log onto
your computer and disable the display

computer.

up the auditing function and monitor
your machine.
- Use
Microsoft Personal Security Advisor
to identify security misconfiguration.

computer.

Turn off your computer when you leave for the day.

an Intrusion Report to report any
suspicious activity on your machine.
