Dr. Sherron Bienvenu specializes in application of theories from management communication and social psychology. Her articles have appeared in The Bulletin of the Association for Business Communication, The Journal of Business Communication, Management Communication Quarterly, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, and others. Recognized as a communication expert, Dr. Bienvenu is frequently interviewed by media representatives and has appeared on CNN, CNBC, NPR, and CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX affiliated television and radio networks.
Dr. Bienvenu recently co-authored Business Communication: Discovering Strategy, Developing Skills (Prentice Hall) a leading edge business communication textbook that will be released in November. Her last book, The Presentation Skills Workshop, was released in January 2000 by AMACOM Books, the publishing arm of the American Management Association. She wrote and appears as on-camera spokesperson in two training videos, Winning Presentations and Winning Credibility, released in early 1998. She also co-authored CrossTalk: Communicating in a Multicultural Workplace (Prentice Hall, 1997).
Dr. Bienvenu provides communication counsel for corporations and individuals with expertise ranging from diagnosing organizational communication problems to facilitation of problem-solving and strategic planning. Her corporate clients include Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems, AT&T, Home Depot, Atlanta Gas, Weeks Corporation, SunTrust Banks, American Cancer Society, Fleet Capital, BellSouth International, Centers for Disease Control, Vegsauki (Iceland), plus numerous individuals and professional organizations. Her workshops and seminars include a wide range of industries and functional areas: sales, advertising, defense, marketing, healthcare, consulting, broadcasting, real estate, law, education, banking, finance, law enforcement, fundraising, manufacturing, public utilities, and telecommunications.
Dr. Bienvenu began teaching at Goizueta Business School of Emory University in 1982 after a ten-year career in broadcasting and public relations. An Associate Professor in the Practice of Management Communication, she manages the communication program and teaches professional and corporate communication strategies to BBA, MBA, and Executive Education students. In addition, she teaches Management Communication in the International MBA program at the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. Her PhD is from Emory.
